Mrs. Fixit :)
Didn't have an overly productive day... my sister in law came for tea and stayed for lunch. That was wonderful. I hadn't peopled in a while. This evening though I vowed to do something. Anything.
There's a beautiful antique cabinet in my bedroom which has had a dangling door for quite some time. Tonight I finally fixed it :) it took a whole 5 minutes + drying time.
The screws had become loose and it's been tightened so many times that there was no longer wood for the screw to bite into... guess that's to be expected when you're a hundred year old piece!
I filled the screw holes with plastic wood. It's super strong wood filler. Doesn't sand the best, so try not to over fill the hole- but it holds screws really well. When it dried, I attached the hinges again. Easy! Should have been done months ago. And now I feel accomplished today.
I'm fully aware there is no one reading this... but should somebody happen to stumble by, I'd encourage you to fix and maintain something every week. Anything at all- it's healthy for your home and you're pocket book.
